A staggering eight million children are still out of school today. Millions of children do not receive quality learning in classrooms. Out of every 1000 Children 82 are made to do hazardous jobs due to bone wrenching poverty. 25.96 % of our population cannot read and write. 70% of children drop out before class 10th. The literacy rate in rural areas is 68.9% while that in urban areas is 85 %. Students in villages do not receive any guidance when it comes to effective utilization of their academic knowledge and other skills. They don’t know about the existence of good institutes in our country. We must equip the youth to be informed about what they can possibly avail to secure a decent life for themselves in the long run. Hence, the question that looms large is that who will take the responsibility to ensure that the gap between the good students in a rural, semi-urban school and a possibly well deserving admission to one of the decent colleges out there is bridged?
