Education is the only key for sustainable socio-economic progress. As per the 2011 census the literacy rate of our country is 74.04%. The figures look good but it is sadly a lot lesser than the average world literacy rate of 84%, where India being the nation with the largest illiterate population amongst all. Despite Government Programs, India's literacy rate has increased very "sluggishly" and a 1990 study vaguely estimated that it would take until 2060 for India to achieve universal literacy at the then-current rate of progress. The following paragraph is a brief illustration of some basic statistics. A staggering eight million children are still out of school today.

A staggering eight million children are still out of school today. Millions of children do not receive quality learning in classrooms. Out of every 1000 Children 82 are made to do hazardous jobs due to bone wrenching poverty.

A historic moment for Sanskriti as Mr. Joginder Rohilla, Trustee is honoured by SDG Goalkeepers award 2022 by United Nations and Govt. of Uttarakhand. This is in recognition of his remarkable dedication and regular contributions to the Sustainable Development Goals. His vision has made an enormous impact, not only across India but also particularly in Uttarakhand, where he has established numerous libraries, providing quality education to thousands of children.

The commitment and passion demonstrated by him in making education accessible to all children is truly inspiring and have created a lasting legacy of positive change. This award is a testament to the transformative work that Sanskriti has undertaken over the past 15 years. May the efforts of Sanskriti continue to benefit countless more individuals and communities.
